We've Been Skunked?A few years ago one of my best friends, Windy, was sitting with his family watching TV and he smelled a smell. It was the strongest smell he had ever smelled and he ran outside to see what was making the smell. In the backyard there was a black and white kitty. Well Windy liked to chase cats out of the yard so he started yelling and ran at the kitty, only something went terribly wrong, the kitty didn’t run! It just turned around and raised its tail and squirted that awful smell all over him. His eyes burned and he just wanted that smell off him. He ran back into the house and created pandemonium. My masters left for a little while then came back with some big cans of tomato juice and filled the sink up. My master then put Windy into the sink with the juice and made him stay there for a long time. Well it sorta worked, most of the smell went away but his beautiful white coat was all orange for weeks afterward. He got more baths than any of us could remember till all of the smell was gone and he was white again. Since then my master has found a better solution than tomato juice. He was reading a magazine (I’m not supposed to tear them up) and found a “Skunk Antidote” made up by a chemist named Paul Krebaum in Illinois. It is easy to make from household items and really works.
Mix it all together and wash the smell out right away then rinse with water. But there is a warning - Don’t try to save the antidote mix in a bottle or can! It will cause a big bang and make a mess all over the place. My master says that’s called an explosion.
